Konekte ("Konekte," "we," "us") is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [address]. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We built Konekte for our community, and we treat your information with the same care we'd want for our own family.

1. Who we are

Konekte is a community technology platform that helps people organize and run savings circles (sòls) and find Haitian-owned businesses. We do not hold, lend, or guarantee funds. Contributions are routed between members through our payment partners; we charge only for the software.

2. Information we collect

You give us:

  • Account info: name, email, phone, password, language preference.
  • Profile info: photo, location/area, bio, "looking for a sòl" status.
  • Identity verification (optional): when you verify your identity, our verification partner [Stripe Identity] processes your ID. We store the result of verification (verified / not verified) — not your ID documents themselves.
  • Sòl activity: circles you join or create, contributions, payout turns, vouches, connections, referrals.
  • Communications: messages you send us or within the app.

Collected automatically:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, device type, app interactions, approximate location (for area-based features like the directory and local perks).
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).

From partners:

  • Payment and bank-connection data from our payment processors ([Stripe / Stripe Financial Connections]) when you link an account or make a contribution — used to verify and track payments. We receive confirmation and limited account details; we do not store full bank credentials.

3. How we use your information

  • To operate sòls: match members, track contributions and payouts, send reminders.
  • To power the trust network: calculate trust score (from your behavior) and connection strength (from your network) — kept separate, and never sold or used to let anyone buy trust.
  • To run area-based features: show the directory and local perks by area and category only — never targeted using your trust score, vouches, or sensitive personal data.
  • To verify identity and prevent fraud.
  • To communicate with you about your account, sòls, and (with your consent) updates.
  • To improve and secure the platform.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed:

  • Within your sòls: other members of a circle you join see your name, photo, trust indicators, and payment status for that circle — this is how a sòl works.
  • Service providers (subprocessors): payment processing ([Stripe]), identity verification ([Stripe Identity]), hosting ([Vercel]), database ([Supabase]), and communications. They process data on our behalf under contract.
  • Legal: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
  • Business transfer: if Konekte is involved in a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.
  • We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your trust data for advertising, and we do not let businesses target you using your personal or trust data.

5. Your money and your trust data

  • Contributions are routed between members by our payment partners. Konekte does not hold your funds.
  • Your trust score is earned through your behavior and is never for sale.
  • Verification confirms identity; it never makes you "more trusted" in the trust graph — it only earns a "verified identity" badge.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (including rights under [applicable state laws, e.g., Florida / CCPA-style rights where applicable]), you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your information.
  • Download your data.
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
